Privacy Policy

Last updated · June 30, 2026

Unbadge is built to do one small thing well, and to do it privately. This policy explains, in plain language, what the app does and does not collect when you clear your notification badges.

The short version. Unbadge reads and clears your badges right on your device — we don’t have servers that store your notifications, we don’t sell your data, and you never need an account. To keep it free and reliable, we use ads and anonymous analytics (never the contents of your notifications), explained below.

01Information we collect

Unbadge does not collect, store, or transmit the contents of your notifications. To clear badges, Android grants the app temporary access to your active notifications on the device; this information is read in the moment to count and clear badges and is never copied off your phone.

We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, contacts, location, or any other personal identifier. You can use the entire app without creating an account.

02Data stored on your device

Some information is kept locally so the app can work and show your stats:

This data is removed when you clear the app’s storage or uninstall Unbadge.

03Permissions we use

04Analytics & advertising

Unbadge uses privacy-respecting analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase) and crash reporting (Crashlytics) to understand anonymous, aggregated usage — for example, how often badges are cleared — and to fix crashes. These never include the contents of your notifications or the names of the apps they came from. To keep the app free, Unbadge may show ads; partners such as Google AdMob may collect device identifiers (including the Google Advertising ID) to deliver and measure ads, in accordance with their policies. We never share the contents of your notifications. In the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, analytics and personalized ads run only with your consent.

05Your choices and rights

If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, Unbadge asks for your consent before showing personalized ads, through a Google-certified consent prompt. You can review or change your consent at any time from the privacy options in the app — if you decline, you’ll see non-personalized ads where available.

If you are in California or another U.S. state with a comprehensive privacy law, you can opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information for targeted advertising at any time using the privacy options in the app (“Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information”). If you opt out, you may still see non-personalized ads.

You can also reset or delete your advertising ID at any time in your device settings (Privacy → Ads), which limits ad personalization across apps.

Because Unbadge keeps no account and stores your stats only on your device, uninstalling the app or clearing its storage removes all local data. For data processed by our advertising partner under your consent, you can withdraw consent as described above. EEA and UK users also have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of their personal data, and to lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority. 06Children’s privacy

Unbadge is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

07Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, note the change in the app. Continued use of Unbadge after an update means you accept the revised policy.
